I had the same problem. If you are losing your hair due to kemo I don’t think there is anything that can keep it from falling out any slower. Good Luck!

Anything prevents the loss of hair? I just lose too much everyday?
Should I see a doctor? I am in school now and pretty stree out since I get an extremetly important exam coming in. But my hair loss has started for a while, it has been 2 years almost. What should I do? Any suggestions? I just feel my hair grows slow and lose more, it bothers me a lot-
I know that hairs goes through 3 stages – growth, dormancy, and shedding – in that order. I am not sure how long each phase last or how often they occur. I do know that sometimes events can alter the normal hair pattern. For instance, after the birth of my second child, I went through a, normal after pregnancy, longer period of shedding, but instead of going back to the normal pattern I went through a dormancy stage and yet another shedding period. It took almost 6 months before I hit another growth phase. My Dr and personal trainer both told me it was normal for the 3 phases to get screwed up after a stressful time. I would say as long as you aren’t getting bald spots, your probably okay. You might look into taking more vitamins and trying to find more time to relax. Stress can effect so many areas of a woman’s life.
I’m a 22 year old female with hair loss?
I’ve noticed in the past couple of months my hair has been falling out more than normal, with the white bulb attached. I went to the doctor and he did blood tests and my thyroid was fine, no diabetes, I did show a bit of a low iron level though so he prescribed me iron pills.
I also went to the dermatologist and he didn’t seem that concerned either, asked the usual questions about stress (I’m as stressed as the next person, diet (mine’s not great, but it’s not terrible either), etc. He told me I need to take more blood tests and I still need to do those (I think they’re for ANA, whatever that is, testosterone and what looks to be DHT? Handwriting is of course sloppy)
I’ve been taking multivitamins and biotin and drinking protein shakes and I THINK the hair loss has slowed slightly, but I still see hairs in my hairbrush with the root attached, and the hair on the top of my head is noticeable thinner, at least to me. How much more am I going to lose??? I’m freaking out
I am 20 yrs old, and i went thru the same thing about 3-4 months ago… doctor said i was totally healthy and fine, and after tons of testing and blood/urine test and work, it was finalized as SEVERE STRESS. i lost alot of hair, especially in the shower, i would leave with tons of hair at the bottom of the drain…but dont worry, your body will never let you lose THAT much hair, to the point where you look like your balding or anything…dont you worry….at all. take vitamins, over the counter and use a hair strengthening shampoo…also, make sure you try to get adquate rest at nite, and try to free your mind of stress and worries, bc that will only make things worse… try drinking some warm milk or hot tea before you go to bed, and/or do what i did when i was going nuts with stress: take YOGA. it teaches you how to breathe and relaxe and just calm yourself down when your totally stressed.
sometimes i think that yoga was the only thing that kept me from going crazy… i hope you feel better..and good luck
Preventing hair loss?
I am a 40 year male and I am loosing hair from the top of my head very rapidly. The hair on the sides of my head are ok. I know there are some products on the market such as Regaine which prevent hair loss, or slow down the process of hair loss, but a lot of these have side effects.
Can any body recommend something which actually prevents or slows down the process of hair loss without having any side effects?
Finally, a friend of mine suggested that I should shave all the hair off my head, and let the hair grow back again. This new growth would be stronger and would not fall out. Do you think it would work?
Thank you.
There is nothing actually totally proven to prevent hair loss, it is normally a heriditory factor, you just spend loads of money trying all different products. A friend of mine is losing his hair in a similar way to what you describe and he keeps his in a very short style, not totally shaven but a number 1 or 2 length. This makes the balder areas less noticable.
What can I do to slow my hair loss?
I am 19 years old, I recently cut my hair short and realized my hair line was receding (OH SHOOT!). I have lost quite a bit of hair around my temples in a pretty short time frame. What can I do to stop this for as long as I can. The men on my fathers side of the family are bald but the men on my mothers side have pretty good hair.
What Shampoo works the best?
Should I start using rogaine already?
What are some other things that would help my situation?

I am 24 year old girl and I am having this problem since I had malaria 5yers ago. After that I had beauty treatment for my hair which included hair oil massage and some kind of hair pack. that time I had nice hair groth, but as I stoped that treatment again my hair fall started. though I got good result from that treatment I don’t want to go for it as it was costly.

Do I have to do any test for this problem? (I have no thyroid problem.)
What should I do to stop my hair fall?
While massaging your hair you should move your finger tips or the skin of head?
How often you should do hair massage (in days/weeks/months)? If you are doing it daily will it cause in baldness?
Does low calcium can cause your hair to suffer?
Thanks to all those who will answer my questions.
Nutrition is very important. Protein and B vitamins especially. Biotin is supposed to be good to support hair growth. I take that and and Omega 3/6/9 from GNC. I’m also currently trying hair supplements (Hairtopia) but I don’t know if it works yet, I bought a Nioxin starter set at the recommendation of the receptionist at the salon. I don’t know if that works yet either but all of these things have been recommended so I figure it can’t hurt. (Although I think the Hairtopia may be making me break out.) A lot of people recommend prenatal vitamins but I think any vitamin is good and that its the pregnancy, not the vitamins that makes hair grow.
Are there any ways to prevent hair loss that actually work?
Well im getting to an age where I am starting to lose my hair and I was wondering if there is anything out there to slow down the process or stop it. I know there are lots of things that claim to but is there anything that works?
hair loss can be caused by many different reasons but if this problem is in your genes then it will be hard to stop it but anyway you can always try and get real results.
year ago I suffered from hair loss and since hair loss is hereditary my dad suffered from it too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss. the things that really worked for me was:
1) increase the vitamin A, B, E intake and more iron!
2) massage, massage and more massage!! Massage stimulates circulation of blood near roots.
3) rub your scalp with garlic juice or onion juice! it really helps for everyone!!
4) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!
It worked and still works for me!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165
good luck!
Is it bad to wash and condition my hair daily?
I notice that when I’m in the show after I put in some shampoo and conditioner (sometimes only conditioner) a bunch of my hair falls out. I’d be doing the lathering part and when I pull my hands back I can see several hairs. I read on Yahoo! answers that the average daily hair loss per indiviual is roughly 75-100 which seems ridiculous but I guess it’s not that out there. Anyways, I was wondering if shampooing and washing my hair less often would slow down this hair loss.
Washing every day is fine. These days, you’d be hard pressed to find a shampoo that will do your hair any damage. Conditioning every day is fine as well – it’s not going to hurt anything, but based on your hair type, you may not need it. Perhaps a creme rinse instead if you just want to get out the snarls.
Be sure to change your products every now and then; it’s like your hair gets used to what you’re using, and changing it gives it a little boost.
As for your hair loss, while seeing a doctor isn’t a bad idea, you can also purchase the Nioxin products which are formulated to deal with thinning hair. They have a ton of products, so I recommend visiting their website and looking at their claims so you know what to get.
I have used it myself, and it really does work. You do have to keep using it, of course, but it’s not like that other product whose name escapes me. It won’t regrow hair, but it does seem to make it "stickier!"
