Have you tried anything that works to reverse hair loss?
I was devastated by a dramatic change in my hair probably related to heredity, hormones and sudden onset of thyroid disease. Not only did tons of my hair fall out, but the remaining hair had no body & was horribly flat & limp. Then it occurred to me to do my own research/experiments. So, the question is, has anyone out there had any luck with herbs, supplements, essential oils, etc., in reversing hair loss. If so, I would love to hear what is working for you & whether the results are small, medium or large. I have no interest in commercial remedies – been there, done that (except hair plugs) and the results are very disappointing at best. Thank you!
I tried Minoxidil with very pathetic results. Thanks to everyone who responded & to those who may respond later. Thank you.
I’ve been using saw palmetto as a tea, 1000mg of pure pumpkin seed oil in gelatin pill form and nettle leaf as a tea also.
I’ve been staying away from shampoos that contain a certain chemical (I’ll check on it later after someone gets out of the shower).
In otherwords i use an all natural shampoo from aulbrey called swimmers shampoo every few days.
I don’t have real chronic hair loss, but after doing this for a month now…I do see decent results. Though i want to keep doing this even further to see how much hair i can gain back.
What’s the best ways to lessen hair loss when brushing hair?
I know it’s normal for a girl’s hair to fall, and I know that stress and worry are the main reasons doing that. But I still what to know that best methods to keep hair shiny and healthy all the time, with little hair loss.
Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.
1.Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair grow..
2. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair.
3. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently..
4. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea.Massage well and shampoo.
5. Beat two eggs,and add two tablespoons of water to it. Rinse hair and pour the egg mixture over the hair.Massage the scalp well and leave for 10 minutes.Then wash it.
My wife is having sudden hair loss, can someone help?
Within 2 weeks, my 40-year old wife has loss more than 30% of her hair, showing the scalp skin clearly. She is understandably depressed, especially when doctors could not find anything wrong. She was not under any medications at the time which may be the cause of side effect. We have 6 month old girl which is breast feeding which some hinted could be a reason. The hairloss is still going, but it seemed to be lesser. What is the treatment to promote hair regrowth? Thank you for the reply….
Many women notice increased shedding from about 3 to 6 months after delivery, which is simply a sign of the body adjusting as hormone levels return to normal. It may take a couple of hair growth cycles (up to several years) before your texture completely returns to normal, especially if you wear your hair long. Many people claim that the onion’s high sulphur concentration is an effective treatment for scalp problems and can even stimulate hair growth
Anything prevents the loss of hair? I just lose too much everyday?
Should I see a doctor? I am in school now and pretty stree out since I get an extremetly important exam coming in. But my hair loss has started for a while, it has been 2 years almost. What should I do? Any suggestions? I just feel my hair grows slow and lose more, it bothers me a lot-
I know that hairs goes through 3 stages – growth, dormancy, and shedding – in that order. I am not sure how long each phase last or how often they occur. I do know that sometimes events can alter the normal hair pattern. For instance, after the birth of my second child, I went through a, normal after pregnancy, longer period of shedding, but instead of going back to the normal pattern I went through a dormancy stage and yet another shedding period. It took almost 6 months before I hit another growth phase. My Dr and personal trainer both told me it was normal for the 3 phases to get screwed up after a stressful time. I would say as long as you aren’t getting bald spots, your probably okay. You might look into taking more vitamins and trying to find more time to relax. Stress can effect so many areas of a woman’s life.
REVELATIONS: New young adult (supernatural and suspense) novel in progress. What do you think so far.?
REVELATIONS
PREFACE
Sunshine Estate is a refuge for special needs children; you could say I was born here. I arrived nine years ago with amnesia and my age was estimated at about seven. The memory loss is so absolute that I still have no recall of my existence before arriving at Sunshine.
While most children my age were in their second or third year of schooling, I was literally being raised from infancy and nurtured through all the usual milestones to adolescence. At seven, the dedicated staff (my virtual parents) changed my diapers, fed and bathed me and coached me through my first attempts at sitting and crawling. When I was eight, I took my first steps, spoke my first words, threw my first tantrums, and celebrated my first successful potty session. At ten, I progressed to early childhood where I began to realize that I was different; I seemed to be able to absorb my education at an accelerated rate, and I was so much taller and stronger than my brothers and sisters. The later stages of childhood started when I was about twelve and my siblings were beginning to catch up with to me. On my fourteenth birthday – based on the anniversary of my arrival – I was told the horrifying story of how I came to Sunshine Estate.
I arrived in the middle of the night, and lay in a crumpled heap at the base of the big iron front gates. I had been starved of proper nutrition for months and I had not sipped as much as a drop of water in days. My bare feet were a mutilated mess of festering wounds and blisters and my long auburn hair had stuck to the congealed blood that covered most of the left side of my naked body. It seems that I had been running, injured, never resting long enough to stop for water before collapsing at the gates of my new home. My only possession was an acorn clenched in my right hand. No one has ever claimed me as their own. I am almost sixteen, or there abouts, and for now I call myself Angel. Why? Something in my head told me I should.
Sunshine Estate has been good to me. It has been my home, my family, my life – my world. A happy place.
At least it was… until the nightmares began.

Thanks Natasha. I had the same problem when I started writing the novel (just about finished writing chap 7 of approx 17 – total 33,000 words so far).
When I started I had what I thought was a good plot (but only so so good) but I had a feeling about it. With each chapter I wrote new ideas exploded and now I believe of have a plot fit for hollywood – only hope my writing can live up to the plot.
If you think the preface and chapter one are good now well have I got new for you. I won’t be posting too much more of the book for fear that someone may pinch the idea (I couldn’t even post the blurb for the same reason). But I promise, this… is nothing yet. ![]()
Hm…. Its interesting. (: I like the idea of it, and the first paragraph’s pretty good, although there are a few things I would change.
As for the thing as a whole– I would leave more for the reader to secod guess, so that there could be more suspense and mystery.
Another thing that was bothering me was that ’something in her head told her to call herself angel’. I just think it leans towards the Mary-Sue side a little too much. To make sure that your character isn’t a Mary-Sue, I recommend taking this quiz: http://www.springhole.net/quizzes/marysue.htm

Hair loss treatments question?
I’m 18 and have had my hair thinning for about 3 years and it appears to have quickened over the last year/6 months…
I’ve researched and have been using;
Green tea supplements (along with drinking green tea),
Ginkgo Biloba (which i have been using for about 4 years anyway).
I’ll admit i dont lead the healthiest of lifestyles but i do some weight training atleast once a week and have cut out crisps, chocolate and alot of fatty foods (although not completely).
I have recently been looking into treatments such as Procerine and couldnt find any bad review, then stumbled upon a site where the admin told a member that Procerin (along with alot of other treatments) will only work as long as you use it, when you stop all the ‘regrown’ hair will simply fall out asif it had never been there…
I’d like to know if there are any other treatments i can try,
I have recently started taking Saw Palmetto but dont think that it is having much of an affect if any…
Are there any other natural/herbal treaments out there that i can try?
And are there any medical tablets etc that will not cause the hair to fall out after you stop using them?
Thanks
as we know – hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.
year ago my husband suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:
1) Vitamin A – an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;
2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The ‘B’ vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;
3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;
4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice (you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);
5) also he used herbal treatment – TrichoZed and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine – it will not work!)
Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!
It worked and still works for him!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed and Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here
http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.php
(TrichoZed™ will produce noticeable hair growth in 30 to 45 days. A consistent use of TrichoZed™ ensures permanent results within 6 months. Further use shall maintain optimal health of your hair.)

Possible reasons for hair loss?
I noticed I’ve been "shedding" alot lately…
~I have been under some stress, but not a tremendous amount…No more then usual, less actually.
~I know I dont have the best diet, but I dont have an eating disorder.
~I’m young.
I dont know why this is happening, but it has me a little worried.
Oh, I thought I might need to add….
I also dont do alot of damage to my hair.
No hair dryer, curler, straighner, or heavy products.
It has been dyed twice before, but always seemed pretty healthy.
Could most likely be stress. Or if you pull your hair up it could be traction hair loss. I just went through that myself, I had my hair twisted in a too tight bun. The traction and pulling made my hair thin out on the side. If it gets really bad see your doctor. Try a folic acid suplement I just started one about 2 months ago and the hair is now coming back. That and I tied my hair up looser.
I’m a 22 year old female with hair loss?
I’ve noticed in the past couple of months my hair has been falling out more than normal, with the white bulb attached. I went to the doctor and he did blood tests and my thyroid was fine, no diabetes, I did show a bit of a low iron level though so he prescribed me iron pills.
I also went to the dermatologist and he didn’t seem that concerned either, asked the usual questions about stress (I’m as stressed as the next person, diet (mine’s not great, but it’s not terrible either), etc. He told me I need to take more blood tests and I still need to do those (I think they’re for ANA, whatever that is, testosterone and what looks to be DHT? Handwriting is of course sloppy)
I’ve been taking multivitamins and biotin and drinking protein shakes and I THINK the hair loss has slowed slightly, but I still see hairs in my hairbrush with the root attached, and the hair on the top of my head is noticeable thinner, at least to me. How much more am I going to lose??? I’m freaking out
I am 20 yrs old, and i went thru the same thing about 3-4 months ago… doctor said i was totally healthy and fine, and after tons of testing and blood/urine test and work, it was finalized as SEVERE STRESS. i lost alot of hair, especially in the shower, i would leave with tons of hair at the bottom of the drain…but dont worry, your body will never let you lose THAT much hair, to the point where you look like your balding or anything…dont you worry….at all. take vitamins, over the counter and use a hair strengthening shampoo…also, make sure you try to get adquate rest at nite, and try to free your mind of stress and worries, bc that will only make things worse… try drinking some warm milk or hot tea before you go to bed, and/or do what i did when i was going nuts with stress: take YOGA. it teaches you how to breathe and relaxe and just calm yourself down when your totally stressed.
sometimes i think that yoga was the only thing that kept me from going crazy… i hope you feel better..and good luck
